IHPTS (In-House Personal Training Service)
IHPT: An in-house personal trainer is a trainer certified by the facility where he/she is employed.
IHPT Services: In-house personal trainers possess proprietary certificates owned by the organization. The fitness services they provide are exclusive to the organization, as are the credentials. Because the certification curriculum is facility-specific, the certification program and credentials are not intended for external applications. As such, IHPT is intended to be privately recognized, not universally recognized.
IHPT Certification Program: Home study. The online study guide curriculum includes exercise science, introductory kinesiology, anatomy, sports nutrition, programming, cardio and resistance (facility-specific), ethics, and etiquette.
